Eloise and the Business of Ferrets
“Eloise and the Business of Ferrets” was painted during the COVID months of 2020 and 2021, a melancholic time of solitude and self-reflection. It is an evocative and intimate examination of childhood and our animal companions. The moody earth tones and elaborate damask wallpaper, the direct gaze and intricate attention to detail throughout the piece are all typical of Robyn’s portrait style.
A “business” is the collective noun for a group of ferrets.
Dark Art is Beinart Gallery’s annual exhibition that celebrates the graphic and the grotesque, the macabre and the beautiful. It brings together artworks by an international collective of artists.
“Dark art provides both artists and viewers an opportunity to explore themes that many of us find uncomfortable: fear, isolation, anxiety, and vulnerability. Certainly the past year has made it clear how universal some of these themes are, but all of these are part of the human experience generally. This show invites lovers of dark art to indulge their morbid curiosities and offers others a chance to see how art can tap into deep psychological wells and make the uncomfortable beautiful.”
